St. Bernard Soap Company is making a $5.7 million expansion to its facility located at 5177 Spring Grove Avenue, and is hiring more than 100 employees. The project is aimed at assisting with the long-term stability of the plant and supporting St. Bernard Soap’s goal of product diversification.
HCDC’s Economic Development Office assisted with the expansion project by connecting company officials to critical workforce development assistance. Ohio Means Jobs and Job & Hamilton County Family Services assisted with more than $100,000 in federal grant funds to support training of new hires as well as other challenges for employees, such as assisting with transportation. These public dollars assist in ensuring that St. Bernard Soap Company can hire, train, and retain the employees it needs in order to remain and thrive in Cincinnati. The company also received a Job Creation Tax Credit from the State of Ohio.
