In the past year and a half, small business owner Diana Clark lost both her business partner and her business adviser. The parting of ways left her on her own to make big decisions for her Price Hill company. Her business, Fairy Dust Ltd., like all small businesses, was experiencing some growing pains when she met with HCDC Business Coach Bob Pickford.

“Getting Bob’s input and advice made a world of difference and validated some of the decisions I’ve made on my own,” said Clark. “He’s been a life saver. We recently made a strategic business hire in large part because of Bob’s coaching and advice.”

Clark’s business received coaching from a new partnership between HCDC, Price Hill Will and an economic development grant from Duke Energy.

Our experienced business coach, Bob Pickford of Findlay Market fame, is helping small neighborhood businesses refine plans, sharpen marketing, improve operations, and gain access capital in order to grow and succeed.

Clark credits her business coach for helping her think through inventory and cost issues.

“I feel that the depth of his experience and knowledge has given us the boost we needed. I would recommend Business Coaching to any company who might need a little help, and that’s most small businesses.”

HCDC’s Small Business Assistance Program  completed its work with Price Hill businesses and recently began working in College Hill. The program will soon expand to Northside and East Walnut Hills. To learn more about the program, please contact Catherine Fitzgerald.

Thanks to the generous investment by Duke Energy, this program is made available to select Hamilton County communities.
