Dear Friends of HCDC,
I hope you have noticed all the good news in the media lately about HCDC and our programs. As you can see from this newsletter, there are lots of great things happening, including the launch of the new Office of Innovation + Creativity. Our first company going through the Economic Gardening piece of the pilot program, Automated Machine Systems, is already deeply engaged and more are in the pipeline to join the first ten companies whose growth is supported by Hamilton County.
I am still transitioning in as the new leader, and couldn’t be more proud of the feedback I get about the quality and impact of HCDC services across our lending, business incubation, and economic development program areas. In the coming months, I hope to meet the rest of our Business Center clients and leaders in the Hamilton County jurisdictions we serve.
I am also not the only one getting out of the office. Marketing Director Kacey King Redmond and Business Center Director Pat Longo are helping to plan the next Startup Cincinnati Week October 8-12, along with our own October Business Showcase & Innovation Village event on October 25th, featuring our clients and their products/services.
In addition to the Office of Innovation + Creativity aimed at propelling growth of second stage companies, our economic development team is working with the Hamilton County administration on the upcoming Community and Economic Development Assistance Program, a competitive funding round for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-eligible projects.
And finally, in the current rising interest rate environment, 10-, 20-, and 25-year fixed financing at attractive rates and only 10% down makes the HCDC administered SBA 504 Loan Program extremely attractive to business owners who want to purchase commercial property and equipment, or refinance their current debt. HCDC loan officers are busy making presentations to bankers and others about the SBA 504 and Ohio 166 loan programs. Let us know if you’d like us to present to your bankers or business group about these loan programs, or about HCDC in general. We are happy to tell the story and encourage entrepreneurs, bankers, and communities to take greater advantage of our services.
Thanks for your support,
