HCDC’s Economic Development Office kicked off the Small Business Technical Assistance Program in the Reading Bridal District in early October. HCDC’s work will include business retention and coaching, with a focus on refining business plans, sharpening marketing, and growth strategies.
Brides tend to shop on weekends, with weekday activity in the district slow. Allen Hill, President of the Reading Bridal District, has requested that HCDC include recommendations for increasing weekday foot traffic as part of its services.
“Our urban cores are the hearts of our communities,” said Jim Henning, president of Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky. “Today, they present opportunities for positive change and prosperity. This important collaboration will create jobs, spur additional commercial activity, and serve as a hub for residents for generations to come.”
