Hamilton County, via HCDC’s Economic Development Office, provides financial assistance through the Urban Land Assistance Program (ULAP) to communities to catalyze redevelopment of blighted properties. The program is designed to assist local communities with the “pre-development” project phases. The program, started in 2001, is allocated between $50,000 and $100,000 per year from the County’s Community Development Block Grant funds.
Amberley Village was recently awarded a $20,000 ULAP grant for asbestos remediation at the 20,000-sq ft Crest Hills Country Club, 7801 Ridge Rd. The 133-acre site is being envisioned as a mixed-use development with residential, commercial, and recreational use.
The Village of Silverton has been granted funds to transform its municipal building at 6880 Plainfield Rd into a brewery that is estimated to create 48 to 66 full-time jobs. Grant funds in the amount of $56,050 were approved for asbestos removal as part of a $1.5 M project.
